My art is bursting with exuberant colour and texture realised in acrylic on board. This piece is part of an extensive body of work, a response to a year-long artist-in-residence at a flower farm in Camp Mountain.
Through observational drawing, painting and photography on location, I recorded the farm cycle of preparing, planting, nurturing, harvesting, resting and replenishing, exploring the special sense of place that the farm exudes. I come from a family of keen gardeners, documenting the farm manifested people and places far from here, enhancing my sense of kinship.
