about me
I’m a full-time artist based in Brighton, Brisbane. My work explores botanicals and still life, transforming observation into richly layered acrylic paintings on board. I’ve exhibited internationally, and my art is held in private, public, and corporate collections.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have worked as an artist for my entire career. Along the way, I’ve also experienced the rollercoaster that comes with an artist’s life.
My life is immeasurably better when it is centred on my art practice. Art is not just what I do - it is who I am. Yet there was a period when I stopped making work altogether. Marriage, moving around the world, building a career, and raising children all contributed. Underneath it all sat a mountain of doubt.
What I’ve learned is that you have to turn up for yourself and your art. You have to find your authenticity - the heart and soul of your creative practice.
Teaching has been central to my work for many years. I care deeply about helping capable, creative adults build a sustainable and nourishing art practice - one that continues even when life gets busy, and one that allows them to show up for their art with confidence and joy.
Over the years, I’ve seen many talented artists learn strong technical and practical skills, only to stop making art once classes end. Not because they lack ability, but because they don’t yet know how to sustain a practice on their own.
And that’s exactly the gap this course is designed to fill.
