Plumbago grew at the first house I lived in, in Bermuda just after I got married. It trailed around the patio terrace and I loved the pale blue blossom. I have grown it in gardens ever since. It can become unruly and need a firm hand but I like the fact it grows without structure. The mug was either my Dad’s or my granddad’s. It is possibly something to do with Methodism, but now i am not sure. It was always displayed on the pelmet in our living room at home.
