This richly layered acrylic painting is created on a sturdy wood panel and finished with three coats of gloss medium to bring out the depth of colour and texture. It’s presented in a hand-sanded pine float frame, waxed to a soft sheen that complements the work without overpowering it. The final surface is gently taken back with beeswax to a beautiful satin finish that catches the light just right.

Wired and ready to hang straight out of the box.

This series was made during my year l,ong residency at a flower farm in Camp Mountain

  • I paint in acrylic on a wood cradled panel

  • framed in meranti for a finished size of approximately 2 cm all round, larger than the panel size. Please ask for the exact dimensions if required

  • d rings and wire are attached to the back

  • The piece is ready to hang

  • The painting is finished with 3 coats of gloss medium

  • When the gloss is dry, the surface is waxed to produce a soft satin finish.

I engaged in a year-long self-directed artist-in-residence at The Acres, a flower farm northwest of Brisbane. I visited twice a week, recording the farm cycle with photographs, drawing and painting on location. I produced an extensive series of en plein air paintings around the farm. All are 40x40cm, the most convenient size to work on in the field or paddock

The business and labour of preparation, planting, nurturing, harvesting and replenishment were fascinating, producing an ever-evolving muse of growth, blossoming and renewal. The changing light and weather cycles as the year progressed contributed to the shifting moods and motifs of

the landscape. The resulting collection seeks to explore, extend and share the sensibility of this exceptional place.
