February Still Life : Lazenby and Crystal Caves

$975.00

A large still life painted from life in my garden studio.

Painted in acrylic on 3mm ply. The ply is then panelled and custom-framed in a meranti hardwood, float-style frame

The painting is finished with 3 coats of glass medium, which is then sealed for a soft satin finish.

Finishing the piece in this way reveals the vibrant colours and multiple layers of texture and pattern.

In 2026, I am making an A1 still life painting each month. In February, I broke my own rules and made a 60×60cm painting

I have been collecting flora from around my neighbourhood to use in drawings and paintings. I saw the elderberry bush, and it reminded me of staying at my Aunt’s house in Cumbria in the NW of England as a child. The red berries are from Mexican Pepper, which reminds me of my husband’s childhood home in Bermuda.
