The final surface is gently taken back with beeswax to a beautiful satin finish that catches the light just right.

Down Amongst the Sunflowers II is the second panel in a diptych created during my residency at The Acres. Each week, I drew flowers in ink with crayon highlights, creating a rich observational foundation for the studio paintings. This piece celebrates the abundance of sunflowers and their bright, confident energy. While it works perfectly as a standalone painting, it is also designed as part of a diptych.
