As part of my residency at The Acres during 2023/2024, I drew in my sketchbook every week for many months. I mainly drew flowers in ink with crayons to indicate colour. This rich source of observational material has led to a series of floral paintings painted in the studio. 
The zinnias were the only flowers which bloomed all summer. Their colours was so vivid it often didnt look real. I have so many drawings and photgraphs of zinnias I think they will be a theme for quite a while.
