Each June, I run a workshop in conjunction with The Samford and Surrounds Arts Trail and Open Studios, and 2024 is no different.
I have been engaged in an artist residency at The Acres, a local flower farm since May 2023. This experience has been huge for my practice. I have been making big, bountiful, floral paintings whilst extending my use of acrylic and I want to share what I have learned.
During this workshop, I will demonstrate my approach to florals. I will show you the loose and inventive techniques I use to help you produce a gorgeous painting of your own.
There will be lots of demos, tons of information and plentiful one-on-one help and advice.
My approach to teaching is generous and transparent. I will tell you everything I know and show you how I do it. I'll explain my approach and help you find your own.
The workshop will run on the first 3 Saturday mornings in June, June 1 or 8 or 15. Please note NOT the 22 or 29th of June
All materials are provided including flowers and images to work from. If you would like to bring some of your own please do so.
Please wear clothes which you can paint in. I will supply aprons.
We will start at 9.30 am and finish around 12.30.
Tea, coffee and home-baked goodies will be available.
