Workshop FAQ

Do I need any experience?
Not at all. My workshops are designed for beginners as well as more experienced painters who want to refresh their skills.

What should I bring?
All materials are provided unless I state otherwise in the workshop details. Just bring yourself, clothes you don’t mind getting a bit of paint on, and an open mind.

How long are the workshops?
Most workshops run from 10am to 4pm, with a break for lunch. Please check the individual workshop listing for details.

Is lunch included?
No, please bring your own lunch or plan to buy something nearby. I’ll have tea, coffee, and snacks on hand.

Do I get to take something home?
Yes. You’ll leave with your own finished painting (or paintings), plus new skills and confidence you can build on.

How many people are in a workshop?
Numbers are kept small so everyone gets individual attention. Usually between 8–12 participants, depending on the venue.

Can I book more than one workshop?
Absolutely. Each workshop is different, and coming to more than one helps you grow your skills over time.

What if I need to cancel?
Life happens. If you give me at least 7 days’ notice, I’ll refund your fee (minus a small admin charge) or transfer you to another date. Less than 7 days’ notice, I’m afraid I can’t offer a refund.

Where are your workshops held?
I run workshops at different venues across the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane. Details are always included in the event listing.

How do I book?
Just head to my website and secure your spot through the booking link. Places are limited, so it’s best to book early.

Private and Custom Workshops

I also offer private or one-off workshops, tailored to your group or individual needs. These can focus on general painting skills, specialist techniques, or even a mindfulness-focused creative experience.

How it works:

  • Workshops can be one-to-one or for small groups.

  • They can be held in my studio, a hired venue, or sometimes at your own space.

  • All materials are provided unless otherwise agreed.

  • We’ll design the session around your goals—whether it’s learning a specific technique, exploring mindfulness through painting, or simply enjoying a creative day together.

Booking:
Reach out via my contact page to discuss your ideas, preferred dates, and group size. I’ll help you create a workshop that’s enjoyable, inspiring, and tailored just for you.

Thinking about commissioning an artwork? Here are answers to the most common questions. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, please reach out—I love talking about new projects!

What can I commission?

I accept commissions for original paintings on board or canvas, typically still life, botanical, and landscape-inspired works. Each piece is unique and created specifically for you.

Can I commission a canvas?

Yes! Canvas is ideal if you’re overseas, interstate, or want a very large piece. Canvas commissions will be shipped rolled in a tube, and you’ll be responsible for stretching and framing. Local framers can assist with this.

How do I start a commission?

Get in touch via my Commissions page or contact form. We’ll discuss your ideas, the subject, size, style, and timeline, so I can provide a clear quote before we begin.

Can I choose the size and format?

Absolutely! I work on a range of cradled panel sizes or canvas dimensions. Panels are finished on all sides and can be hung unframed or in a handcrafted float frame.

How long does a commission take?

Timing depends on size and complexity. Typically, a commission can take 4–12 weeks, including preparation, painting, finishing, and shipping. I’ll give you an estimated timeframe before we start.

Can I see progress during the painting?

Yes! I can provide photos or updates so you feel involved as your artwork develops.

What if I want changes or adjustments?

Minor adjustments are possible during the painting process, but the aim is to capture the vision we agree on from the start.

How are commissions priced?

Pricing depends on size. I provide a transparent quote before any work begins.

Do you ship commissions?

Yes, all works are carefully packaged, tracked, and insured for domestic or international delivery. Canvas pieces are shipped rolled in a tube; panels are packaged for safe delivery.

Can commissions be framed?

Yes! Cradled panel works can be framed in handcrafted meranti hardwood float frames, sanded and waxed to complement the artwork. Each frame comes with D-rings and hanging wire, ready to display. Canvas commissions require separate framing after delivery.

How do I pay for a commission?

A deposit secures your commission, with the remainder due before shipping. Payment instructions are provided when we start.
